Talking about the stock market, upon making this offer to Yahoo, Microsoft got a 13% drop on its stock meaning they lost around $40bn, the coincidence is pretty humorous. Why Yahoo has given the middle finger to silicon valley's monster, well some might say its their way of making Microsoft dig deep into their pockets and between you and me, I shore hope they do, really looking for one of those WOW endings to this episode and for it to end with every one loosing would be disappointing.

I say good sir, challenge you to a duel, jolly good show!!

So of course the players in this deal for yahoo would have to have their say, and here they are, lets start off with Google: GOOGLE's Response As I have said before I am all in favor of a Google overlord but I also love the smell of competition and here Google clearly uses its 'all good doing' status to their advantage by saying that Microsoft is EVIL and if they buy yahoo, all hell will break loose on the internet, users will burn and the tubes will be infested with one horned red demons. Well I really don't think it would be that bad, Microsoft got to much money to fast, that made them forget where all that money was coming from. Getting yahoo might show them that all the pain and head aches that they had been getting from the internet public might just go away if they succeed where yahoo has failed.
Really can't understand why Google had to take this approach, deep down everyone knows that if Microsoft comes to yahoo with the same mentality they have had with their uninternet products then it will fail and they will lose the internet vision of the company, maby forever.

Microsoft replied to Google with this statement from General Counsel of Microsoft, Brad Smith, Microsoft's Statement which is very long (very microsofty) heres the importante stuff on the statment:

"The combination of Microsoft and Yahoo! will create a more competitive marketplace by establishing a compelling number two competitor for Internet search and online advertising. The alternative scenarios only lead to less competition on the Internet.

Today, Google is the dominant search engine and advertising company on the Web. Google has amassed about 75 percent of paid search revenues worldwide and its share continues to grow. According to published reports, Google currently has more than 65 percent search query share in the U.S. and more than 85 percent in Europe. Microsoft and Yahoo! on the other hand have roughly 30 percent combined in the U.S. and approximately 10 percent combined in Europe.

Microsoft is committed to openness, innovation, and the protection of privacy on the Internet. We believe that the combination of Microsoft and Yahoo! will advance these goals."

Micrsoft shows the money at Yahoo

Yahoo looks like it’s losing control of it’s battle against google, some people say the war is all over. Over the past years yahoo has used every thing to fight back, changing interface, going into the social network area of the internet failing then trying again, failing, then trying to get into music, failing. They even said that your yahoo account had no limit.
Now, that all hope seems lost, and after announcing to fire 1,000 of it’s staff as a restructuring plan and a day after chairman Terry Semel quiting, Microsoft offered $44.6bn (£22.4bn) to purchase Yahoo.
If Yahoo accepts this deal, it will change alot in the battle of the search engines and as a google fanatic, I think that google should pay real attention to this purchase. Microsoft needs a good search engine to pull the rest of its services together into something more stable and fluid and Yahoo can give all these and much more.

Some where to start off from

Hi to all, not going to do any introductions because no one really cares.
